LAOWA 24mm f/14 2X Macro PeriProbe – Full Frame (Arri PL Mount)
Key Features:
The 24mm T14 2x PeriProbe not only inherits all the great features from the 24mm T14 2x Probe lens, a new tube with periscope is now also included. The new 90° Periscope tip unlocks countless new exciting movement. The 85° AoV & a very close 2cm working distance help created the bug-eye perspective. The 2x magnification allows for capturing subjects of different sizes with details. Users could poke the long & waterproof barrel into a tight space & underwater to obtain a unique perspective. The LED Ring Lite provides an extra light source. Users could also switch the 90° periscope back to the 0° straight scope. The lens could rotate 360° along the axis by unlocking the orientation ring. Additional accessories can also be mounted at the tip of the lens through the 1/4 screw hole.
Optical Design
For the optical design, Laowa has divided the lens (28 elements in 19 groups) into 3 functional groups. These functional groups are: Macro lens + Relay Lens + Objective lens. That’s also one of the reasons why this lens is a bit more expensive than a normal lens as it’s basically three lenses merged into one.
Includes:
Additional Supplied Accessories:
Laowa 0.7x Focal Reducer for Probe Lens (PL-E):
The 24mm T14 2x PeriProbe is designed for Full-Frame cameras. However, APS-C & Micro Four Thirds users can now pair up the lens with a 0.7x focal reducer which is dedicatedly designed for the probe lens. It maintains the perspective of the lens by reducing the crop from the APS-C & M43 sensors, while it boosts the light to f/10.
* Currently only an E-Mount is available.*
Lens Support 15mm LWS Rod (Designed for PeriProbe only):
The Lens Support (for 15mm LWS Rod) is specially designed for 24mm T14 2x PeriProbe for extra stabilisation of the lens barrel. It is compatible with both direct view module & periscope module.
*It is not usable on the original Probe. *
