The Sony PXW-X70 is a compact XDCAM 4K Camcorder that fits into the palm of your hand. It features a 1.0" Exmor R CMOS Sensor with a resolution of 20 megapixels. The sensor is larger than that of a Super 16mm film frame & delivers high resolution & fantastic low light performance.
The X70 has the ability to record HD in XAVC Long GOP, enabling 422 10-bit sampling at 50Mbps. This supports a broadcast-quality workflow adopted by productions in many different professional applications. A fixed Zeiss Vario-Sonnar lens achieves 12x optical zoom which can be doubled to 24x with Clear Image Zoom & doubled again to 48x with Digital Extender Zoom. The X70 also houses build-in mechanical ND
filters which are an necessity in maintaining good exposure.
Advanced features include Wi-Fi/NFC with Content Browser Mobile version 1.4 or later, plus dual media slots, simultaneous or relay recording, & independent record control. In addition, other wireless network features (e.g. live streaming, file transfer, etc.) are supported.
March 2017 - The PXW-X70 now includes the CBKZ-X70FX 4K upgrade!
