Blackmagic PYXIS 12K L-Mount is an advanced digital film camera with an incredibly versatility. The PYXIS 12K features a 12,288 x 8040 full frame RGBW sensor with built in optical low pass filter, 16 stops of dynamic range, dual CFexpress media slots.
The Blackmagic PYXIS 12K L-Mount features a fixed L-Mount that works with the latest full frame lenses & a wide range of lens adapters.
The large format sensor in the PYXIS 12K allows you to shoot in 3:2 open gate, & you can also use the large sensor area to shoot anamorphic & deliver in a range of aspect ratios with 1.3, 1.5, 1.6, 1.66, 1.8 & 2x de-squeeze factors. Plus, you can shoot in 4K, 8K or 12K using the entire sensor without cropping, retaining the full field of view of your lenses. There are even 9K Super 35 4-perf, 3-perf, & 2-perf modes for full compatibility with classic cinema lenses.
Large Format Cinematic Digital Film Sensor
The Blackmagic PYXIS 12K features a large full frame sensor with a native resolution of 6048 x 4032 or a massive 12288 x 8040! That's almost three times larger than a Super 35 sensor & lets you shoot with a shallow depth of field or use anamorphic lenses uncropped for a true cinematic look. Whether you’re shooting in bright light or in almost no light at all, the massive dynamic range with high performance sensor provides stunning low noise images in all lighting conditions. Plus, PYXIS 12K or 112 fps on the PYXIS 12K. This amazing sensor combined with Blackmagic colour science gives you the same quality as the most expensive digital cinema cameras.
Full Frame Flexibility
The large full frame sensor in Blackmagic PYXIS lets you work in a variety of film formats & aspect ratios without sacrificing quality! Using the full area of the sensor gives you a unique open gate 3:2 image which also lets you reframe your shots in post production. The large sensor also lets you work in true 6:5 anamorphic without cropping, making widescreen cinematic images more detailed & in higher resolution than previously possible. You can even use the classic Super 35 sized window on the sensor to create an instant ‘close up’ version of your shot that fits seamlessly with open gate footage. All this lets you create distinctive cinematic content in the highest quality!

For a trouble free experience please follow these steps.
Step 1:Explore the options then add your gear to the Camera Bag. If what you’re after is not listed please add it in comments or simply Contact Us.
Step 2:View your Camera Bag & select the date & duration of the hire including the desired collection time.
Step 3:Once you're done review your Camera Bag & add any special requirements in the Message field. Urban Cine will follow up with questions &/or answer your questions.
Step 4:Submit to request a quote. You'll receive a copy. Urban Cine will send you a formal quote if required.
Step 5:Pick Up & Return: Typically after 2:00pm the day before the hire, & by 11:00am the day after the hire. Picking up the day before gives you the opportunity to familiarise yourself with the equipment & check that everything is in order before your shoot the next day.
Step 6:Payment: For new customers payment is required prior or on collection. If you have a history with Urban Cine a credit account may be offered.
Step 7:Insurance & ID: To ensure insurance for hired equipment is valid Urban Cine Pty. Ltd. asks you to verify your identity. By doing so you are supplying the required 100 points of ID. This will protect both you the Hirer & Urban Cine Pty. Ltd. You will receive a text message. Just follow the prompts. For more info see OCR Labs IDKit
Step 8:Using Equipment: It’s fair & reasonable to expect the hirer has the skillset to use equipment in a respectful & professional manner.
Step 9:Report Issues: Please report equipment failures & breakages. Feedback is important. If you’re experiencing issues with equipment on set please call us asap. Often issues can be rectified over the phone.
