Product Description

The Atomos Shinobi II is an upgraded 5.2-inch HDR monitor designed for vloggers, photographers, and content creators. It's slimmer, brighter, and more energy-efficient than its predecessor. Key features include improved camera control, a new user interface, and advanced image tools. This monitor is perfect for long shooting days thanks to its long battery life and USB-C power delivery.

Key Features

  • Lighter, Slimmer, Low-Profile Design
  • USB-C/LANC Camera Control, USB PD Power
  • 5.2 Inch 1920 x 1080 Capacitive Touchscreen
  • High 1500 cd/m² Brightness
  • 4K HDMI Input, HDR/HLG/PQ Support
  • AtomHDR Mode with 10-Stop Dynamic Range
  • Built-in and USB Calibration Support

Camera Control
Use the USB-C port to control the latest mirrorless or DSLR cameras from Canon, Panasonic, Sony, and Z CAM's E2 line. A 2.5mm LANC port is also on the side for additional control compatibility. NOTE: This will expand with future support for cameras from FUJIFILM, Nikon, OM System, and Sigma with firmware updates.

Camera Status

A camera status indicator allows you to keep an eye on the camera's internal record settings, battery status, and remaining recording time. A red edge display shows when the camera is recording internally, whether it's triggered by the camera or from the Shinobi II.

AtomOS 11 & Advanced Image Tools

The Shinobi II includes the latest Atomos AtomOS 11, which introduces numerous new tools and features with a more logical layout and easy-to-navigate interface.
Use the Shinobi II interface to adjust your camera lenses' aperture, shutter speed/angle, and ISO with its built-in exposure tools, such as false colour, waveforms, zebras, or histogram, and achieve perfect exposure on every shot.

Brighter Display

The 5.2" touchscreen display is 50% brighter than the Shinobi, measuring 1500 cd/m² peak brightness, making it easily readable whether you're shooting indoors or in bright sunlight.

Input Signals

The Shinobi II features an HDMI 1.4 input that allows you to monitor signals in various resolutions and frame rates up to DCI/UHD 4K30 and up to 1080p60.

HDR and LUT Support

The HDR HLG and HDR PQ monitoring modes allow you to preview what your camera's Log output might look like in HDR. Users can also upload up to eight custom LUTs to the monitor's built-in storage to preview their shots with their favourite looks.

Frame Guides

A variety of built-in cinema-style and social media-focused frame guides help compose your shots, including presets for 2.41, 2.35, 1.91, 1.9, 1.85, 16:9, 9:16, 4:5, 2:3, 1:1, 5:4, 4:3, 3:2.

Lightweight Design

The monitor has been slimmed down to weigh only 7.4 oz, and there are added locating holes alongside the 1/4"-20 threads for anti-twist mounting. A single L-series battery plate on the back has been placed in the centre to improve balancing and maneuverability. The included HDMI/USB-C locking adapter allows you to use Atomos' new line of locking cables to prevent disconnecting or pulling.

Power Options

There are multiple methods to power the Shinobi II, including an L-series/NP-F style battery, an optional battery eliminator (dummy battery) in combination with a DC barrel to D-Tap cable, or via a USB-C PD charger with 10W input. You can also charge/power your camera via USB-C PD 13W output while you're using Shinobi II's camera control features.
