The Zacuto Zgrips Extended Arm and Handgrip Rig Support is designed extended out.
Your hands will be level with your chest, as opposed to, more commonly, at shoulder level, for which you'd have to keep your elbows up.
The whole assembly is made to attach to the 15mm rails of a camera rig, attaching to them at the top. The scissor-like rods extending from that top connect to the Handgrips by ball joints that leave the Handgrips articulating until tightened by levers. The rig that you'll have attached to -- if you ever want to mount that rig onto a tripod, you won't have to do a lot of unscrewing: the Arms along with the Handgrips simply quick-release off at the flip of another lever.
The Zgrips are durable and are built to successfully handle pressure and stress. The Handgrips alone are designed in such a way that all the weight they support rests on your fist.
