This Auto Focus Adapter bridges the gap between classic manual cinema lenses & modern autofocus workflows.

Designed to integrate seamlessly with the Nucleus-M II & Nano II Wireless Lens Control Systems, this innovative lens mount adapter converts fully manual cinema glass into responsive autofocus lenses.

This E-Mount to PL Mount Adapter utilizes the native phase-detection autofocus data directly from the sensor of the Sony FX3, FX30, FX5, FX6, or other supported cameras & translates the camera’s autofocus information into precise motor-driven focus movements via our Nucleus ecosystem. This adapter is compatible with Sony’s Alpha & FX line up to the Sony FX6.

The result is reliable autofocus performance that fully leverages your camera’s existing AF capabilities, including face detection & eye tracking, while retaining the tactile control cinematographers expect from professional manual lenses.

A built-in lens profile library eliminates calibration for supported lenses. Users with supported lenses can select their lens from the menu & start shooting right away.

For unsupported or specialty lenses, manual calibration allows users to map & save new lenses to the library. These lenses can be mapped directly through the UI on the adapter itself which makes it easy & convenient to add new lenses on the fly.

One of the system’s standout features is instant AF/MF override which allows users to seamlessly take manual control for precise focus pulls or creative racks, then release to return control to autofocus. Please note: Manual Override is only compatible with the Nucleus-M II FIZ Hand Unit at this time.

When using the system with two wireless motors, users can adjust the Iris via the camera’s electronic control.

NOTE: This is not compatible with the Burano or FX9 due to physical clearance issues with the locking E-Mount.

This adapter is not compatible with the Viltrox E Mount to Z Mount Adapter. Please use caution with other similar adapters as it is possible for them to be difficult to remove.

The firmware does not currently support Zoom functionality or 2X Anamorphic Lenses.

Manual Focus Override will jump to the current position of the FIZ unit & cannot be easily used to correct the Auto Focus. It only functions as an option to manually control a motor while the auto focus adapter is active.
